REFLECTIONS ESTATE – May 2008

National Pacific Properties – Creating Quality, Affordable and Sustainable Communities

The urban landscape at Reflections Estate is constantly changing now, with house frames appearing across the first stage and heavy equipment and excavators busy creating the next stages and preparing the central wetlands area.

Five of Melbourne’s top builders are constructing their Reflections Estate Display Village homes, with the display village due to open in spring. These homes, many of which are new designs and will be on display for the first time at Reflections Estate, will provide a wide range of styles and prices to meet everyone’s lifestyle needs and budgets.

Steve Copland, General Manager of developer National Pacific Properties, is proud of how it is all coming together. “Affordability is on everyone’s lips these days, with uncertainty about interest rates, and the rising cost of petrol. At Reflections Estate, we’ve employed clever urban design principles to provide housing diversity, and to help ensure affordability for a wide range of home buyers. Land sizes ranging from just over 300m2 through to over 650m2 create a wider range of pricing – both in terms of the vacant land now and when the homes are completed.”

The Reflections Estate Design Guidelines have been written to encourage quality streetscapes with well positioned homes. “Our building envelopes and guidelines provide assistance for people to site, or position, their homes on the block to take advantage of natural light. Good positioning, with lots of natural light and connectivity between internal and external living areas, makes even a modest sized home feel quite spacious, and will add street appeal for everyone’s benefit.”

The municipality of Wyndham has recently claimed the status as the fastest growing municipality in Victoria, with in excess of 100 people per week moving into the area. Reflections Estate is well positioned within this municipality - close to both existing and planned schools, shopping, transportation and leisure activities.

Reflections Estate is the latest project by developer National Pacific Properties. Its General Manager, Steve Copland, is a qualified urban planner with over 20 years experience in the land development industry, who has recently completed a two year stint as Victorian State President of the UDIA (Urban Development Institute of Australia). Charged with the task of growing National Pacific Properties, Mr Copland is actively pursuing development opportunities throughout Victoria’s growth corridors.
